Rotary Scholarship Program Awards $7,000 to AHS Seniors
July 24, 2009 -The Rotary Club of Allen (Noon) has awarded ten scholarships, totaling $7,000, to deserving Allen High School seniors. The annual award recognizes their high scholastic achievement, as well as the student’s involvement in the community and extracurricular activities.
“In awarding out scholarships, we look at grades, but we also give consideration to how much planning the students have done in regard to college and how to pay for it,” said committee chair Randy Sandifer. “Since we are a service club, we also look for students who have been active in community service.”
“This year’s scholarship winners reflect the diversity of the learning experiences in Allen ISD in their career goals and choices of schools,” Sandifer continued. “We view these scholarships as an investment in our future.”
